Went for albacore and got 25 albies all on zucchini brooms and zucchini cedar plugs. Called it after only 4.5 hours of fishing with plenty of fish to go around. Fish were from 10 to 30 pounds with more than half of the fish in the 20 to 30 lb range. Call me to book! 831-566-9407.

I apologize for the lack of fishing reports recently. I did a solo trip out for halibut commercially today. I ended the day with 4 halibut and 2 of them were around 25 pounds. TUNA TIME

Tim and I went out for a scouting trip yesterday dropped in at a nice temperature break!! The water was good we saw jumpers and the 1st 2 fish were nice bluefin about then we boated 5 more albies that were all big fish!!! Around 1pm the bite came on about 20 miles from us so we picked up and ran on the way we spotted jumpers and dropped on them getting rewarded with a double of big size albies!! We trolled there for a few more minutes for nothing so we trolled out to where the bite was and lost a big fish under the boat! We get to the zone and its on all 6 rods go off and all 6 fish end It was awesome, Tim and I were covered in tuna blood and had fish all over the deck!! We called it with 14 total tuna including 2 quality bluefin!!! Now this is how it's done! We had 2 anglers book the boat today and they got there limits of salmon and we got crew limits as well. That's 8 salmon today! On a side note there were some anglers who put in decent scores of albacore tuna today. I will be starting to do tuna trips now! When the weather is good we will be running offshore for tuna. Took a buddy of mine out today as there was no charter. We didn't get to the fishing grounds until about 10:00am and we had 3 fish in the box for 2 of us within an hour. The bigger fish are moving in and there isn't as many shakers around. The wind started to blow hard and we headed back to the barn early. There is no official word on Salmon season yet but everything looks good for an April opener. There will be a meeting on March 1st in Santa Rosa that will tell us the details of the Salmon season. My educated guess is that Salmon season will open on Saturday April 2nd and I am now taking bookings for Salmon!!!

Wednesday July 7th

Tuna Massacre! We got into them big time and left them biting. Ended the day with 23 quality albacore that plugged my fish hold and a large cooler all in the 20 to 30 pound class. We trolled zucchini brooms which did the trick. Let's go get 'em!!! I have open spots!

Sunday June 20th

Today the winds were down until around 11 and we landed a nice 17lb halibut! We had several rock cod including one really nice sized brown. We caught and released over 10 undersized lings today as well. It was a nice day out there today and I had a excellent group of clients! Happy Fathers Day!

Tuesday June 8th

Since the salmon bite is still slow the inshore fishing has been the best thing to target recently. The halibut and rockcod bite has been decent recently. I am planning on taking an exploratory tuna trip once the winds on the outside lay down. Give me a call. Lets go fishing!

Tuesday May 25th

I took a cruise up the coast today to do some halibut fishing. I did not end up with anything in the box today. I will be out salmon fishing on Thursday and Friday and have open spots on the boat. Call me! Lets go fishing!

Monday May 24th

Went out this morning to the soquel hole and the water just didn't look right. It was greenish blue and clear. It was not the color I was looking for. I decided to run down to Pt. Pinos and see how it looked there. Same clear green blue water color. Trolled from Pt. Pinos to Cypress Pt. for nothing. Picked up and ran by three trees and metered alot of bait and fish between 60 and 110 feet. We did get one hit 80 feet down on a green krippled anchovie. The water conditions look good for the next few days. Give me a call! Lets go catch some fish!

Friday May 21st

Today was another tough day out there as the wind has really made it hard to fish and turned the salmon bite off. We trolled for salmon for a bit in the morning before calling it quits and going for halibut and rock and ling cod. We managed to put a nice 26" halibut in the box and let go two undersized lings. I am taking saturday and sunday off due to the weather. The weather is suppose to be better monday and I will be out chasing salmon again. I have Monday through Friday open next week. Give me a call. Thursday May 20th

After doing so well over last week and the weekend the bite totally died today. We ended the day with no fish. We trolled from just above three trees and around the west side of the Soquel hole. I think there was 1 fish landed out of all 20 or so boats out today. The water was snotty but fishable. There was tons of krill all over the place and birds working all day. Maybe this recent weather system has turned the bite off. I plan on giving it another shot for a few hours in the morning tomorrow and then switching over to halibut and rock cod if it's slow for salmon.

Saturday May 15th

I had another charter of 3 today. We fished in the same area as yesterday on the west side of the soquel hole and we had our limits of 6 fish by 10am again. The bite doesn't get any better than this! I have open spots all week! Let's go fishing! Give me a call 831-566-9407.

Friday May 14th

I had an excellent charter of three on the boat today. We fished on the west side of the soquel hole for 6 salmon up to 28.8lbs. We were done by 10am! The bite is excellent. Let's go fishing!

Thursday May 6th

I did not have a charter trip today but decided to go out with a buddy anyway and see what was going on. Started fishing in the same area as on Monday and it was slow. We got a tip on a good bite going on at Soquel hole. We got there at 1030 and immediately hooked up and had a steady pick until the wind machine turned on. We ended the day releasing one shaker salmon and keeping two in the 15 to 20lb range. The bite is turning on and I have plenty of open days. Give me a call. Lets go fishing!

Monday May 3rd

Went out to test some new electronics I just put on the boat for a few hours this afternoon. Ended up catching one salmon and losing another 2. The fish are here. Lets go fishing!
